Water – our cradle before birth and one of the most precious resources on this planet. This is the element that bathes the seeds of life, that circulates through our bodies just as it circulates between the oceans and the skies. The expression of water is unusually diverse as it transforms between liquid, solid, and gas, manifesting itself as cutting glaciers to illusive mists. In its most neutral state water is fluid and requires a constant flow of movement otherwise it will begin to stagnate.
Water is the element of emotion and healing. Our emotional world echoes this movement – we can emotionally freeze, or we can become clouded by our emotions, and when we suppress our feelings the energy tends to get locked into the body. This stagnation can often result in various imbalances and dis-ease. Our emotions are vibrational states that carry information and reflect our current state of consciousness and intention. Dr. Masaru Emoto was a Japanese scientist who revolutionised the idea that our thoughts and intentions (subtle sound vibrations) can effect the molecular structure of water and illustrated this by photographing water crystals that had been exposed to various words, types of music and prayer. The results of his research revealed that the most beautiful water crystals formed through the vibrational intention of love and gratitude.
Simply working with the knowledge that water responds to our state of consciousness and reflects this information back into our cells via its molecular structure places us in an immensely powerful position. This knowledge offers us a daily opportunity to work with the healing power of water and to become increasingly mindful of our personal relationship with this element.
Water is a vital building block of life and of the natural world, and in this way it is alive and will respond to its environment. How we are each day, how we think and therefore how we feel, will affect our attitude and behaviour, and the results of our behaviour. It will affect our bodies, which are 70% water, as well as the water that is carried in the bodies of others and the body of this Earth. Each one of us has a choice to consciously connect with this element, to carefully cultivate our intentions as they will ripple throughout reality. From here we can collaborate in creating a more beautiful world.
