WATERCOLOUR
The word ‘mandala’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘mandalam’, which means circle. In Hinduism and Buddhism these circular geometric artworks are often used as meditation aids or to depict an aspect of the higher realms or greater cosmic patterns.
These coloured mandalas are done with watercolour and gold leaf over a giclee print of the original pen and ink drawing. They are sold as ‘originals’ i.e. no colour reproductions are made. If you are interested in a coloured work you are most welcome to contact me directly.
